To Feel Alive
How do you cope with life's overwhelm? This can be the challenges you are presented with or even the overwhelming excitement for what is to come.
For me, the answer to both is movement. Movement is how I cope and how I celebrate my victories. When my life feels overwhelming and my mind begins to circulate thoughts (positive and challenging ones), I focus on what I can control, which is MYSELF. This includes, but is not limited to, my responses, reactions, and how I carry myself to move forward—which sometimes just means putting one foot in front of the other.
I find myself needing to move, to sweat, to breathe. In the movement comes gratitude, even when I feel like life is falling apart at the seams, like I’m failing, losing things, or even if it feels too good to be true—to feel my heart beating rapidly reminds me that I am alive.
Life is a gift, a privilege, and an opportunity. What are you doing daily to practice gratitude for this gift? What and how are you showing up to take advantage and share this opportunity with others around you?
